Thompson Seville
First Look: Thompson Seville Set to Debut Late 2026 in Landmark La Gavidia Building
Seville is preparing to welcome one of the most anticipated hotel openings of the year: Thompson Seville, scheduled to debut late 2026 in Plaza de la Concordia, at the heart of Seville’s historic centre. Located in the iconic La Gavidia building, the property marks the brand's first hotel in Andalusia and continues Thompson Hotels' growing presence in Spain following the successful opening of Thompson Madrid.
Set within one of Seville's most recognizable architectural landmarks, Thompson Seville will blend design, culture, gastronomy, and a contemporary hotel experience while honoring the city's history, traditions, and unmistakable character.
Designed as a gathering place for both travelers and locals, Thompson Seville draws inspiration from Seville's creative energy, culinary traditions, and social culture. The hotel will offer 101 guestrooms and suites, a rooftop pool and fitness center, event spaces, and a dining program rooted in Sevillian tradition led by Grupo Manolo Mayo.
A hotel in La Gavidia
The opening of Thompson Seville will usher in a new chapter for La Gavidia, one of the city's most recognizable examples of modern architecture. Originally designed by Ramón Montserrat Ballesté and closely associated with Seville's Modern Movement, the landmark building is being thoughtfully transformed by design studio Proyecto Singular into a hotel that preserves its architectural character while bringing new energy to the historic center.
101 guestrooms and suites
Thompson Seville's 101 guestrooms and suites combine warm materials, natural textures, artisanal finishes, and subtle references to Andalusian identity, creating spaces that feel both contemporary and deeply connected to their surroundings. Accommodations will range from city-view guestrooms and terrace suites to the Thompson Suite, a spacious retreat with a private terrace and sweeping views of the city.
Guestrooms and suites have been designed to offer a residential atmosphere where contemporary design meets refined local details—a sophisticated retreat that captures the energy and essence of Seville.
The guest experience will be complemented by a rooftop fitness center overlooking the city, offering a unique perspective across Seville's skyline.
Gastronomy with a Sevillian soul
Gastronomy will be one of the defining elements of Thompson Seville. The hotel will feature a dining concept developed with Grupo Manolo Mayo, one of Seville's most respected restaurant groups, known for its dedication to Andalusian cuisine, seasonal ingredients, and a deep respect for local culinary traditions.
Beloved local restaurant Mayo Sevilla will close its existing location to begin a new chapter inside the hotel under the name Casa Mayo, bringing the spirit of a classic gastronomic house deeply connected to the culinary identity of Seville and Andalusia to Thompson Seville. The interior design, created by architect Pablo Baruc, results in a warm, contemporary space where ingredients and craftsmanship take center stage.
Dining and drinks will unfold across several spaces throughout the hotel. On the ground floor, the Lobby Bar will serve as an all-day gathering place for guests, travelers, and locals alike, with a menu ranging from morning coffee to midday aperitifs and evening cocktails. One of its signature experiences will be the daily "Sherry Hour" around 6 p.m., a gathering centered on Jerez wines, small bites, and music.
On the rooftop, the Rooftop Pool Deck & Bar will feature a pool, lounge area, and a light menu designed for daytime enjoyment and sunset gatherings. The menu will include refreshing drinks, spritzes, chilled wines, small bites, and Andalusian influences—relaxed during the day and increasingly social as evening approaches.
Event spaces
Thompson Seville will also offer 240 m² of event and meeting spaces on the ground floor, designed to accommodate a variety of formats—from corporate meetings and presentations to social celebrations and weddings. The area includes four independent rooms with the option to connect them, integrated audiovisual equipment, and an additional interior patio, allowing for flexible configurations in the heart of Seville.
With its opening late 2026, Thompson Seville will bring together architecture, gastronomy, design, and local culture in one of the city's most significant buildings, creating a new gathering place in the heart of Seville.
