BRE Hotels & Resorts Completes Full Renovation of Courtyard by Marriott Boston Brookline
BRE Hotels & Resorts today announced the completion of a comprehensive full-property renovation of Courtyard by Marriott Boston Brookline. Spanning public spaces, amenities, and 188 guest rooms, this renovation reflects BRE’s ongoing commitment to capital investment and operational excellence and positions the Brookline asset for long-term competitive strength in one of the country’s most dynamic lodging markets.
Located just outside downtown Boston, Courtyard Boston Brookline provides convenient access to Boston University, Boston College, Harvard University, and the Longwood Medical Area, including Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The refreshed property offers a comfortable and connected home base for business, medical, academic, and leisure travelers alike.
The transformation was led by the creative direction of The Gettys Group, an award-winning global hospitality design firm, whose vision balances Courtyard by Marriott brand standards with locally inspired elements that reflect Brookline and the greater Boston area. Throughout the hotel, navy accents, cognac tones, golden yellow highlights, and dark metal finishes draw inspiration from Boston’s waterfront character and Brookline’s historic architecture, creating a contemporary yet welcoming atmosphere. Curated artwork reinforces this connection to place, featuring abstract interpretations of urban architecture, movement, transit, and New England landscapes, creating a visual narrative that reflects the surrounding community.
The redesigned lobby serves as a welcoming gathering place for travelers, anchored by open-concept check-in stations that replace the traditional front desk and encourage more personalized interactions between guests and hotel associates. A custom sculptural lighting installation featuring multi-sized metal and glass rings with a nickel finish draws inspiration from the movement of water droplets, creating an artistic focal point that softens the reception area's darker palette while preserving open sightlines throughout the space. Thoughtfully arranged seating areas accommodate a variety of guest needs, from focused work sessions and informal meetings to one-on-one conversations and quiet moments by the fireplace. Framed by expansive windows overlooking the courtyard, the natural-light-filled lobby seamlessly connects to the adjacent dining areas, where versatile seating further supports focus and productivity as well as social interaction.
Guest rooms continue the Boston-inspired aesthetic through navy accents, textured wall coverings, rich dark wood finishes, and tailored details. Tufted headboards, contemporary lighting, and layered materials create a warm, restorative environment that balances sophistication with comfort. Each room includes mini-refrigerators, iHome technology, and dedicated workspaces for business and leisure travelers.
Courtyard Boston Brookline offers 987 square feet of flexible meeting and event space designed for corporate meetings, trainings, banquets, and small gatherings. The hotel features two adaptable meeting rooms equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, ergonomic workstations, business center access, and convenient on-site dining at The Bistro, creating a productive setting for business travelers, organizations, and groups.
The 24-hour fitness center was intentionally reimagined with a functional layout, allowing guests to move through their routines with ease. The facility features areas for stretching, strength training, and cardio, as well as ample storage, towel stations, and a water bottle refill station. The heated indoor pool looks out to the courtyard, offering a relaxing environment year-round.
To celebrate the completion of the renovation, the hotel is introducing the American Legacy Package, a limited-time offer inspired by local history, neighborhood discovery, and classic American comforts. The package showcases newly redesigned rooms while honoring Brookline's ties to President John F. Kennedy. Guests receive renovated accommodations, two signature cocktails at The Bistro, classic welcome snacks like Cracker Jacks and toffee, and convenient access to the John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site, which is within walking distance from the hotel. Merging heritage with comfort, the American Legacy Package offers a unique way to experience Greater Boston's iconic neighborhoods.
