Michelin Key Hotel Casas del XVI Debuts Under IHG’s Vignette Collection
Casas del XVI, a MICHELIN Key boutique hotel comprising eight restored historic houses in Santo Domingo’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ciudad Colonial, has just debuted under IHG’s Vignette Collection.
The hotel’s 21 rooms and suites are set across neighboring casas in the heart of the Colonial City. Each casa has its own architecture, interiors and story, yet together they form one intimate hotel experience. Guests may reserve individual rooms and suites within the casas, while select houses can be reserved in their entirety, making them ideal for gatherings with family and friends, as well as private celebrations.
Inside, no two casas are alike. Spanning architectural periods from the 16th through the early 20th centuries, the collection feels discovered over time rather than designed to a single aesthetic. Casa del Diseñador draws from art, fashion and design; Casa Macorís reflects Dominican folklore; and Casa de los Mapas blends Colonial and tropical influences, opening onto a lush courtyard and pool, with each remaining casa offering its own distinctive character and story.
The hotel’s residential feel extends to every aspect of the guest experience, with personalized service designed to make each stay effortless and immersive. Guests can discover Santo Domingo at their own pace through thoughtfully arranged dining and wellness experiences, as well as curated cultural activities such as museum and architectural tours, visits to chocolate ateliers, artisan workshops, cigar heritage experiences and wellness rituals inspired by Dominican traditions.

Beyond the hotel’s collection of historic casas, the Colonial City unfolds on foot.
