Oxford Witney Hotel, JdV by Hyatt

Hyatt Announces Plans for First JdV by Hyatt Hotel in the UK

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE:H) today announced that one of its affiliates has entered into a franchise agreement with an affiliate of CL Capital for Oxford Witney Hotel. The 130-room hotel will be operated by InnPractice and is expected to join the JdV by Hyatt brand portfolio by the end of 2026, marking the brand’s debut in the United Kingdom.

Located within walking distance to Witney’s historical center, approximately 15 miles west of Oxford and within reach of the Cotswolds, the hotel is undergoing an extensive transformation designed to reflect the character and heritage of its surroundings. The hotel’s guest experience and interiors will draw inspiration from Witney’s longstanding wool-making heritage, the hand-made spirit of the Arts & Crafts movement and a local sense of place, woven throughout the interior design.

The planned addition of Oxford Witney Hotel to the JdV by Hyatt brand portfolio will introduce an upscale lifestyle hotel designed to connect guests with the local community and character of Witney and the wider Oxfordshire and Cotswolds regions.

The hotel will feature 130 guestrooms, a restaurant and bar, both sourcing produce from local suppliers, and 1,205 sqft of flexible meetings and events facilities, with the ability to host up to 90 guests.

Rooted in Witney

As the largest market town in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, Witney offers a distinctive setting for the first JdV by Hyatt hotel in the UK. Its location provides access to both the university city of Oxford and the wider Cotswolds, creating a base for guests looking to experience the culture and character of the region.

Oxford Witney Hotel offers a lively, well-connected base for experiencing Oxfordshire. Guests can browse Witney’s twice-weekly market, independent shops and local food scene, catch live music, theatre, comedy or talks at the Corn Exchange – a 19th-century arts venue in Market Square – or discover nearby Cogges Manor Farm, a Downton Abbey filming location. Walkers and nature lovers can follow the River Windrush to Witney Lake and Country Park or plan day trips to Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Minster Lovell Hall and the villages and landscapes of the surrounding Cotswolds.

InnPractice has been appointed by CL Capital to operate the hotel following its expected transition to the JdV by Hyatt brand. The company works with hotel owners, investors, global brands and independent hotels to create high-performing hospitality businesses through operational leadership, commercial expertise, technology and a trusted collective of specialist partners.

Additional details regarding the hotel’s opening will be announced as the project progresses.

The term "Hyatt" is used in this release for convenience to refer to Hyatt Hotels Corporation and/or one or more of its affiliates.
