Built directly into the mountain's dramatic cliffside, Rimrock Banff belongs to Banff rather than merely occupying it. The resort's terraced architecture extends from the mountainside, cascading toward the Bow Valley below and framing Banff National Park at every turn.

Led by California-based Studio Collective, the redesign embraces an immersive, emotive approach to hospitality, drawing inspiration from the textures, materials and rhythms of the Canadian Rockies. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows dissolve the boundary between indoors and out while carefully choreographed sightlines continually draw guests back to the surrounding peaks. Two signature Emblems Collection design markers are interpreted through Rimrock's distinct sense of place. The Timeless Hearth, conceived as the warm social heart of every Emblems property, takes shape through the lobby's sculptural hammered copper fireplace, creating a natural gathering place that extends to the terrace and mountain air beyond. The Discovery Enclave, an intimate space designed to inspire curiosity and connection, is realized through The Listening Room, a discreet retreat centered around vinyl, rare spirits and fine wines.

The experience begins in the reimagined lobby, designed to emulate the dramatic foyer of a luxurious private mountain residence. Soaring double-height windows immediately reveal the Canadian Rockies, complemented by woven stone flooring, carved wood detailing and richly textured furnishings. From there, the resort unfolds through a sequence of spaces that intentionally shift in scale, transitioning from expansive gathering areas to more intimate corners that foster a sense of discovery while creating a boutique sensibility despite the property’s expansive footprint.

Art plays an integral role in reinforcing a sense of place. Public spaces feature a curated collection by award-winning global art consultancy nAscent Art New York comprising 48 contemporary works, including many pieces by Canadian artists, that interpret Banff’s mountains, rivers and native landscape through an abstract, contemporary lens, while guestrooms continue that dialogue through works by Canadian artists and craftspeople.

Each of the resort's 320 redesigned guestrooms, including 57 suites, has been arranged around the landscape beyond its windows. Parker's Table, the resort's signature restaurant, celebrates Canada's true North through seasonal cuisine rooted in relationships with local farmers, fishers and foragers. Named for Elizabeth Parker, a founding member of the Alpine Club of Canada, the restaurant pairs a warm, refined atmosphere with a menu that reflects the character of the surrounding region. Distinctive rituals elevate the experience, from a tableside bread and butter service featuring Canadian salts and artisanal butters to pastry and preserves presented from a roaming cart.

Nestled within the resort’s reimagined lobby, Rimrock Social serves as its central gathering place. Conceived as the resort’s grand living room, the space was designed to encourage connection, centered around a vibrant bar while maintaining quieter moments for conversation and reflection throughout the surrounding lounge. Rimrock Market serves as the resort's mountain coffee bar and biergarten, with specialty coffee from Alberta’s renowned Chronicle Coffee, curated provisions and a convivial atmosphere inspired by the spirit of mountain après culture. Emblems Collection’s signature rituals are woven throughout the culinary journey at Rimrock Banff. Central to the experience is Alpine Honey, selected as the resort's Emblematic Ingredient for its connection to the surrounding landscape and longstanding association with wellness, craftsmanship and hospitality. Brought to life through a partnership with Highland Farm Honey, a family-owned producer in Alberta, the ingredient appears throughout the resort, from the signature Alpine Honey Spritz arrival ritual and wellness tonics to additional culinary offerings.

This narrative continues through the Travel Cake, a signature Emblems Collection ritual developed in collaboration with acclaimed Korean pastry chef Yun Eunyoung, founder of Seoul-based Garuharu. Inspired by the forests of Banff National Park, Rimrock's interpretation features pine needle cake layered with alpine honey ganache, translating the destination into flavor and form.
