With over 24 years in the industry, crossing over several continents and receiving fantastic achievements along the way; David lands back in the Maldives to oversee the two award-winning Starwood properties.
In Australia, David started his hospitality career in Food & Beverage and quickly worked his way into management roles from Sydney, to Darwin and the Sunshine Coast. His love of travel took him overseas starting in Singapore and beyond. David spent 6 years in Vanuatu at the Le Meridien Port Vila Resort & Casino holding Executive Assistant Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing roles, before being appointed General Manager in his last two years.
After leaving Vanuatu, he took General Manager posts at luxury properties including the Le Meridien Hotel & Convention Centre Cochin in India, Cocoa Island Maldives and Vomo Island Resort in Fiji (managed by Sofitel), before settling in as the General Manager for 3 years at the Le Meridien Dahab Resort in Egypt.
Throughout his career David has a proven track record in pre-opening and re-branding of properties, incrementally increasing profit year-over-year, and attaining accolades for his given property. “It is wonderful to be back in Paradise with such stunning resorts. I look forward to continuing and exceeding the success that both Sheraton Maldives and W Maldives have had. The unique characteristics of both brands prove that there is something for everyone within the Starwood Maldives Collection and it is going to be an exciting journey”, says David.
