Barnes has nearly 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including four years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Most recently, he spent two years at Four Seasons Hotel Prague as General Manager, where he enjoyed becoming immersed in the area’s culture. Before that, he spent two years as Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. Prior to his employment with Four Seasons, Barnes spent 15 years with Benchmark Hotels at four of their properties, including the Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe and as general manager of Chaminade Resort and Spa. Barnes graduated from the University of Santa Cruz in 1993 with a degree in language studies and linguistics. He grew up in Orange County, and is married with two children, ages seven and one. He enjoys various sports, especially tennis, and loves good coffee.
