Tyneside’s newest airport hotel has appointed its first manager. The 179 bedroom Doubletee by Hilton Newcastle Airport Hotel is due to officially open in early December, with Irish-born Seamus O’Hara at the helm.
Mr O’Hara has years of experience in the hospitality industry, working at hotels in both Ireland and England.
Before moving to Tyneside he was general manager of the four star deluxe Glass House in Sligo and has also worked for major chains including Ramada and at a boutique hotel in Dublin.
The hotel will be operated by the Cairn Hotel Group and offers a range of services for guests including a gym and a range of meeting rooms which can accommodate from 40 to 150 people.
