Greater China Hospitality (H.K.) Ltd. announces the appointment of David E. Kasten as chief executive officer. In his new role, he will lead the management of all hotels across the Howard Johnson and Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale brands in mainland China. Most recently Kasten was chief financial officer of Interstate China. Prior to returning to China, he spent 12 years as chief financial officer and regional vice president of finance for two of Marriott International’s international regions. Kasten was based in Hong Kong from 1998–2002 in various roles, the last being regional vice president of finance for Asia Pacific where he assisted with the integration of the Marriott’s acquisition of the Renaissance Hotel Group. From 2002–2010, he was based in Florida as CFO ®ional vice president of finance for the Caribbean & Latin America regions. Kasten’s understanding of international lodging operations, finance and development activities, his business acumen and his strong communication skills have all contributed to his success throughout his career.
