He is a speaker of Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia, English, Punjabi, Hindi and Hokkien. Mr. Burns started his career in the hotel industry in 1984, working primarily in food and beverages. He has held the position of Food and Beverage Director at international hotels and restaurants in Malaysia and has also been General Manager of a resort hotel in Indonesia.
