John Roberts has been named worldwide conservation director at Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas has upped its environmental efforts with the appointment of a new worldwide conservation director. John Roberts steps into the new role following 10 years working as the company’s director of elephants, based at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in northern Thailand. In addition to managing the Elephant Camp, Roberts will now work closely with scientists and universities to ensure that Anantara’s conservation initiatives produce viable scientific data. This will then enable him to identify and develop future projects in which Anantara properties can become involved. He will also recommend best practices and assist with Anantara properties’ Green Globe certification.
