The Langham, Hong Kong announces the appointment of Mr. Bob van den Oord to the position of Managing Director of The Langham, Hong Kong. In addition to this capacity, van den Oord continues his role as vice-president of Brands for Langham Hospitality Group. With a distinguished career with over 20 years experience building and driving innovation for hospitality brands on 3 continents (North America, Europe and Asia), van den Oord will continue to lead the repositioning of The Langham, Hong Kong and take the 495 room property to the next level in terms of operational excellence, world-class brand management and innovative marketing initiatives. The new managing director has had n exceptional track record in senior hotel management positions for luxury hotels in the UK, France, Hong Kong and United States. In 2012 he was appointed vice-president of Brands (Global) for Langham Hospitality Group and Regional Director of Operations for Korea, Indo China and Thailand and successfully strengthened recognition of Langham Hotels’ brands. He began his career with Langham Hospitality Group as a resident manager with the Le Meridien Boston in 1999. He then spent five years as the managing director/general manager of Eaton Hotel in Hong Kong. From 2008 to 2011, he advanced to become vice-president of Sales & Marketing and served as a core member of Langham Group’s executive committee. As managing director of The Langham, Hong Kong, van den Oord replaces Duncan Palmer who has resumed the role of managing director of The Langham, London.
