Philip began his career with Marriott in Athens Ledra Marriott Hotel back in 1985 as a Maitre D' and then was promoted to Restaurant Manager. He did the pre-opening task force at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel for its specialty restaurants and lounges in 1989. In 1991 Philip moved as Beverage Manager to Warsaw Marriott Hotel. He got promoted to Director of Restaurants in 1993 then to Director of Catering in 1995. In 1993 Philip did the pre-opening task force for the Budapest Marriott Hotel for all its restaurants and lounges. In August 1996, Philip was promoted to Director of Sales & Marketing at the Athens Ledra Marriott Hotel. In October 1998 he returned back to Warsaw Marriott Hotel as a Director of Sales & Marketing. He was promoted to Resident Manager in 2000, then to Acting Director of Operations in September 2001. Philip was appointed in 2002 as pre-opening General Manager for the Jordan Valley Marriott Dead Sea Resort and Spa where he oversaw the final stages of development of the resort and managed a very successful opening.
