Anna Anderson has been named general manager of the Virgin Hotel Chicago, a new property slated to open in the fall of 2014.
The Chicago hotel is the first of what is expected to be a chain of Virgin Hotel properties that will reflect the irreverent style of the Virgin brand's British founder Richard Branson. A second Virgin Hotel is slated to open in 2016 in New York City.
Anderson brings to her new role more than 25 years of experience in hotel management. Most recently she was general manager of both the Mosaic Hotel Beverly Hills and the Maison 140 Beverly Hills in California.
Prior to those two posts, Anderson was general manger of the boutique Hotel Andaluz in Albuquerque, N.M., an AAA Four Diamond-rated property. Anderson's resume also includes a stint as GM at the Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee, WI., another Four-Diamond property.
