Thomas Tapken has been appointed as VP Operations Middle East & Africa at Millennium and Copthorne Hotels

Tapken joins the team in a bid to support the hotel group’s aggressive growth plans within the region. In this exciting new role, he will utilise his 30 years of knowledge to lead Millennium & Copthorne Hotels in the Middle East & Africa region in a strategic direction, with profitability and business growth as his key objective. With his experience spanning Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, Tapken has spent the last 11 years in the Middle East region and has held senior management positions with the likes of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts and most recently, Rotana Hotels, where he held the position of area vice president – Dubai and Northern Emirates.

Thomas Tapken is an alumnus of Hotelfachschule Heidelberg – Class of 1984.
