A Croatian national, Jovalekic attended university in Serbia, graduating with a degree in finance and accounting. He entered the hospitality industry when he moved to Dubai and joined the Jumeirah Group, looking after global sales, where he gained experience in revenue management and reservations.In 2006, he joined JAL Fujairah Resort & Spa in its pre-opening phase, where he spent three years and was promoted to leisure sales manager, before moving back to Dubai to join the Dusit Princess City Centre Hotel. Most recently, Jovalekic worked at Insights Management Consultancy, representing international hotels and tourist boards in the region.
