Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced that Rajit Sukumaran has assumed the position of Vice President, Acquisitions and Development for Asia Pacific, excluding China. Rajit Sukumaran He is based out of Starwood’s Asia Pacific divisional office in Singapore, overseeing Starwood’s regional development offices in Tokyo, Delhi, Jakarta and Sydney. In his new role, Sukumaran will oversee the growth and development of Starwood’s nine globally recognized and admired hotel brands in Asia Pacific. He is also a member of the Asia Pacific divisional leadership team and oversees Starwood’s new and existing investments in Asia Pacific. Sukumaran began his Starwood career in January 2005 as part of the development planning team and has been instrumental in some of Starwood’s most complicated transactions in the region, including acquisitions and joint ventures. Before joining Starwood, Sukumaran worked at Pricewaterhouse Coopers as part of the corporate finance team handling cross-border corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings. He is a graduate of Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University.
