Javier Suarez has joined Six Senses Douro Valley as spa and wellness director, a role that he held previously at Six Senses Yao Noi in Thailand. Javier brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, given his passionate dedication to health and wellness over the past 20 years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, where he also minored in Holistic Health, Javier started his career in the industry working at Laguna Honda Hospital in San Francisco as a physiotherapist. Returning to his native Spain, he spent more than 10 years in the hotel industry with Marriott's Club Son Antem in Mallorca and Hilton Sa Torre Mallorca Resort before his recent tenure in Thailand. Javier also holds a Masters degree in Geriatric Physiotherapy from the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona and is a certified organic nutritionist.
