HVS announced that Heidi Nielsen has been promoted to Vice President. According to Stephen Rushmore, MAI, CRE, FRICS, President and CEO of HVS “Heidi joined HVS in 2006 and is considered our Carolinas/Georgia Coast expert, having worked on hundreds of assignments in this part of the country.” She has developed keen insight on lodging markets in the southeastern U.S. She is often called upon for guidance by hotel developers, as well as owners and investors. Heidi has also contributed her expertise to numerous portfolio assignments undertaken by the firm, and aspires to open a satellite office in Charleston, South Carolina operating under the auspices of HVS Atlanta. Heidi has written articles focused on hotel markets in Atlanta, Birmingham, and Charleston, as well as a review concerning the unique dynamics of lodging markets proximate to major U.S. military installations. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and has front-line hotel experience with The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. She is a state-certified appraiser in South Carolina.
