Biltmore Farms Hotels, Asheville's largest locally-owned hospitality company, announces an
internal restructure and creation of two new positions. Robert Foster, general manager of the
DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore, has been promoted to Director of Hotel Operations,
while Melissa Warwick, general manager of the Residence Inn Biltmore, has been named
revenue manager. Both positions will oversee responsibilities for all of Biltmore Farms Hotels.
Foster began his career with Red Lion Hotels and worked in a variety of positions for the hotel
company at properties along the West Coast, eventually being elevated to assistant general
manager. From there, Foster served as Director of Operations for Westin Hotels in Southfield,
Mich., followed by a stint as opening General Manager at the full-service Marriott in Pueblo,
Colo. Foster became General Manager at the DoubleTree Hotel in Charlottesville, Va. in 1999.
After eight years, Foster was named General Manager for the DoubleTree Biltmore. During his
time at the historic property, Foster has overseen the addition of the Vanderbilt Executive
Tower in 2008, and a property renovation in 2013. Foster led his team to the 2014 CARE Cup
Award, which is awarded annually to the top DoubleTree property, based on customer service,
community involvement and employee satisfaction. In addition to his duties at the DoubleTree,
Foster serves as Chairman of the Buncombe County Tourism Product Development Fund, as
well as the Historic Biltmore Village Board of Directors. In January 2015, he was selected to the
DoubleTree Circle of Leadership program.
