Sig Valera has been appointed as General Manager at Aloft South Beach

Sig joins Aloft South Beach with 23 years of experience in the South Florida market, starting in the sales and marketing arena with the Hyatt Regency Miami. After successfully re-launching Sofitel Miami as Associate Director of Sales, he then progressed to Director of Sales & Marketing for the Wyndham Miami Airport where he opened the first IACC-approved executive meeting center in South Florida. After winning Hotel of the Year and the EMC Spirit Awards, he was promoted to Hotel Manager and opened the LEED-certified, IACC approved executive meeting center at the Doubletree Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Subsequently, Sig returned to Miami where he joined B Hotels & Resorts, and as General Manager opened b2 Miami Downtown. He then went on to become the Director of Hotel Operations at the new B Ocean Resort. Sig has a baccalaureate degree in Hospitality Management from his native country, the Dominican Republic, as well as a Master’s Degree in Hospitality and Food Service Management from Florida International University.
