Fairmont San Francisco is proud to announce the appointment of William Fong as Hotel Manager. Fong, who brings over 25 years of hospitality experience to the position, officially began his new appointment on October 26, 2015. During his most recent tenure as Hotel Manager at Westin Maui, Hawaii, William oversaw the performance and operations of the 760 room resort. Prior, he served in several senior positions at St. Francis and St. Regis Hotels, San Francisco, California. He left St. Regis as Hotel Manager in 2014. Fong began his career in Food & Beverage with Hilton Hotels. He then moved to Westin St. Francis, San Francisco, where he held a number of progressively senior sales positions; followed by a five-year stint with St. Regis Hotel (also in San Francisco) where he served as Hotel Manager overseeing daily operations for the five-star hotel. William earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Hayward. His wife, Amber, and sons Jacob 13 and Solomon 9 are thrilled to be back in San Francisco. They enjoy visiting with family, shopping and cooking together. In his new position at San Francisco's premier luxury hotel, William will manage a team of over 400 colleagues. He plans to focus on strengthening the hotel's position in the market delivering the highest level of guest service, supporting local environmental sustainability initiatives and partnering with organizations to further elevate San Francisco as the unmatched U.S. travel destination.
