Skamania Lodge, A Destination Hotel, is pleased to announce Noni Hughes as its new assistant general manager. In her new position, Hughes will be responsible for overseeing guest services and satisfaction. Hughes looks forward to utilizing her previous experience at Skamania Lodge as director of rooms, where she oversaw daily operations and managed all aspects of profit and loss, along with her passion and natural talent for interacting with guests. Hughes began her hospitality career at Sunriver Resort near Bend, Ore. She was then promoted to the Destination Hotels corporate office, working in an IT capacity. Born and raised in Hawaii, Hughes has the Aloha Spirit in her blood and a natural friendliness toward everyone she meets. Her desire to engage with guests daily inspired her to return to the property level at Skamania Lodge, beginning as director of rooms. During her time at Skamania Lodge, Hughes was also sent out on a task force to serve as interim general manager for Mile North in Chicago. Throughout her career, she’s built an aptitude across several specializations in the industry, including information technology, accounting, revenue management, spa and golf operations, forecasting and guest services. This multi-faceted knowledge both contributes to her professional career growth and allows her to easily work with members across a number of teams. When Hughes isn’t assisting guests, she’s exploring all the beautiful hiking the Columbia Gorge has to offer. She also enjoys working out and chowing down on vegan dishes with her husband, Jason.
