Filament Hospitality announces the appointment of hotel veteran Marie-Helene Morowati to its executive team as general manager of V Palm Springs Hotel. Owned by celebrity lawyers Mark Geragos and Brian Kabateck and set to open its doors this winter, the property is managed by Filament Hospitality, a full-service management company, specializing in dynamic resorts in exciting destinations worldwide. Marie-Helene brings more than two decades of hotel experience to the position with success at impressive brands throughout the U.S. and Europe, including Accor, Starwood and Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts. Prior to her new role with Filament, Marie-Helene served as a General Manager for Viceroy Hotel Group for eight years and has extensive knowledge of the Palm Springs market, having spent the last three years as GM of Viceroy Palm Springs. “Marie-Helene brings her top-notch expertise to V Palm Springs,” says Ingrid Summerfield, Filament Group’s President. “We are confident that she will further our commitment to delivering a truly boutique and fresh hotel product to South Palm Springs.” Marie-Helene, an industry veteran, has held various senior executive positions in the hotel and resort management field, managing assets and overseeing operations for world-renowned hospitality brands. After nearly ten years managing her own restaurants in Germany and Los Angeles, Morowati started her hospitality career with Accor in food and beverage, before joining the Westwood Marquis and overseeing its transition into a W Hotel. After 9 years with Starwood, gaining hands on management experience and getting certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt, she went on to become a General Manager for Viceroy Hotel Group. Educated in Europe, Marie-Helene holds a degree in hospitality and tourism from the L'Ecole Internationale Tunon in Paris, France where she earned a Baccalauréat in Economics and Language Arts.
