Bret Kidd has been appointed as VP & General Manager Americas at Travelport

Travelport, a leading Travel Commerce Platform, recently announced the appointment of Bret Kidd to the position of group vice president and managing director for the Americas. Kidd will have overall responsibility for Travelport’s travel agency, travel management company (TMC), and regional online travel agency (OTA) customers throughout North America, the Caribbean, and South America. Kidd formerly served as vice president and general manager for Travelport’s Airline Technologies line of business, where he lead the company’s teams responsible for designing, selling and delivering hosting and IT solutions to airlines around the world. Kidd joined Travelport from Stratos Management Systems, a private equity-backed IT services firm that he co-founded and grew to over $130M. Previously, he held a variety of executive positions at EDS/HP including leading industry verticals, managing strategic accounts, and driving corporate development initiatives in the Travel & Transportation, Global Public Sector and Corporate Strategy and M&A groups. Prior to joining EDS/HP, Kidd served as a consultant to airlines and energy firms at Ernst & Young in its Strategic Advisory services practice. Kidd began his career working on Capitol Hill, serving as special assistant to U.S. Senator Phil Gramm, supporting Senator Gramm in a variety of areas, including health care and fiscal/economic matters.
