Professionally trained culinarian, Jeffrey Powell joins Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport as executive chef. In this role, Powell oversees all banquet, catering and restaurant food service in this premiere destination gateway hotel. Powell joined Hyatt in 2001 as an apprentice at the Manchester Grand Hyatt while attending the culinary program at San Diego Mesa College. After earning his nutritionist certification, Powell launched a professional career that took him across the United States with Hyatt hotels throughout California, the Hawaiian Islands, Tex as and most recently, New Jersey. Powells culinary point of view mirrors Hyatts global philosophy: Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served. and is reflected in the global offerings at McCoys Bar and Grill and Hemisphere Steak & Seafood restaurant. At home, Powell enjoys cooking braised meats, practices slow cooking methods and explores new ingredients such as Moringa, an African green very high in vitamin C with other added health benefits.
