Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo announced the appointment of Marcus Bauder as general manager effective 5 February 2016.A seasoned hotelier, Mr. Bauder previously served as resident manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo from 2008 to 2010, and as hotel manager of Shangri-La’s China World Hotel, Beijing from 2010 to 2012. In addition, he was director of food and beverage at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei overseeing all aspects of the property’s culinary operations from 2006 to 2008. Prior to re-joining Shangri-La, Mr. Bauder took up the position of resident manager at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore and hotel manager at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. He has also held hotel executive roles in Dubai, Prague and at the iconic Burj Al Arab from 2000 to 2002.
