Michael Ziemer has been appointed as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental Taipei

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced new General Manager appointments for hotels in Hong Kong, Taipei and Tokyo. Michael Ziemer moves from The Excelsior, Hong Kong to succeed Paul Jones as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Taipei. With more than 30 years of hospitality experience, Mr Ziemer joined Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 2003 as Resident Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. He was appointed General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Munich in September 2004, returning to Asia in 2007 to oversee the rebranding of Mandarin Oriental, Macau to Grand Lapa, Macau. Michael transferred to The Excelsior, Hong Kong as General Manager in February 2010. With many years of valuable experience in key locations, Michael is well positioned for his important new role in Taipei. Mr Ziemer’s successor at The Excelsior will be announced in due course.
