The InterContinental Mark Hopkins is proud to announce the following new hires and promotions across the engineering, food and beverage, and housekeeping teams. Recently named Chief Engineer of the InterContinental Mark Hopkins, Shane Caldwell first joined the InterContinental Hotels Group family in 2008 as Journeyman Engineer and part of the opening team for the new InterContinental San Francisco. Later promoted to Assistant Chief Engineer, Shane was responsible for the coordination and management of day-to-day maintenance and engineering of the 550-room property which included managing daily energy and utility consumption, multi-million dollar Capital Expenditure projects, and assisting in the hotel’s achievement of EBOM LEED Gold certification. Named “Manager of the Year” in 2013, Shane brings a proven track record of maintaining quality product in the areas of guestrooms, public space, interior, and overall building maintenance to his new role at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins.
