Tareq Derbas has been appointed as area general manager of Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan, Iran and Iraq for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Middle East. Derbas will also continue his position as the general manager of The St. Regis Doha. In his new role, Derbas will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of The St. Regis Doha, as well as the expansion of the Starwood’s growing portfolio across key markets in the Middle East. With more than 25 years of international experience, Derbas has held senior executive positions with luxury hotels brands prior to his current position, including the Four Seasons Hotels in Amman and Riyadh as well as Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
