Ignacio Mendoza Valenzuela has been appointed as Managing Director at Grand Velas Los Cabos

Eduardo Vela Ruiz, founder and president of Mexico’s Velas Resorts, has announced that Luz (Lucy) del Carmen Ruiz Rodriguez will take over as Managing Director of the AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. She replaces Ignacio Mendoza Valenzuela who will act as opening Managing Director of Grand Velas Los Cabos. Opening in late 2016, Grand Velas Los Cabos ups the ante for the Grand Velas product with special wine features, commitment to the arts, dramatic ocean views, hard to top wellness suites and more. The appointments are effective immediately. Immediately prior to Mendoza’s time as Managing Director of Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, he acted as Resident Manager at Marquis Los Cabos. In addition, he has led teams at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic, Hotel Presidente InterContinental Cancun and Guadalajara and Le Méridien Apollo in Amsterdam, Holland.
