AXIS Architecture + Design, the San Francisco-based hospitality and multi-family architectural design firm, is pleased to announce Byung Kang, Senior Associate Architect, as the firm’s newest partner. Byung joins Principal Architects and Designers Cory Creath, Shawn Alexander, and Rory Carroll as firm partners. Joining AXIS in 2013, and bringing with him over a decade of experience in senior design positions at HOK, DES, and Steinberg Architects, Byung has led the AXIS architectural team on a number of projects, including AXIS’ Aloft LAX and Fairfield Inn and Suites at LAX hotel renovation projects, and the firm’s Bancroft and Dutton Avenue multi-family housing projects. In his new position, Byung will continue to lead AXIS Architecture + Design’s hotel architectural design projects, with a particular focus on AXIS’ hotel renovation projects. Additionally, as AXIS Architecture + Design continues to develop its multi-family architectural practice, Byung will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of beautifully functional designs.
