Michael Shin has just been appointed General Manager of the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort. Mr. Shin previously held the post of Project Director, Luxury & Lifestyle at IHG's headquarters in Singapore. He was part of InterContinental's True Luxury team, which is responsible for introducing new high-end services and standards of customer care bearing the InterContinental stamp. Michael Shin has 16 years of experience in the field of hospitality, hotel sector consulting, business development and finance in the United States, South Korea and Singapore. This has given him an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the day-to-day management of a resort, as well as of how to grow resorts as businesses and brands. Being the first ever luxury resort on Koh Samui with stunning views over the Gulf of Thailand and the surrounding coconut plantations, the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort comprises 79 elegant rooms, suites and villas spread out on the vast 22 acre premises. Two restaurants serve modern European cuisine as well as Thai and Asian delicacies, while the two bars offer snacks and tapas and a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
