James ChowScheduled for completion in December 2016, the first Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong has announced a key appointment to the Executive Team. James Chow, Director of Sales & Marketing, will be spearheading the marketing, sales, revenue and event management strategies for the newest 5-star property of Shangri-la Hotels & Resorts in Hong Kong. Before joining the opening team of Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong, James was already a key member of the Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts group, following his tenure as Director of Sales and Marketing at Shangri-La Futian in Shenzhen, China. Prior to joining Shangri-La, James was Director of Sales and Marketing at the Banyan Tree in Macau, where he also served as the opening team. James’ other notable positions include Area Director, Sales & Marketing for Mandarin Oriental in Macau and Sanya; Assistant Vice President – Marketing at the Hong Kong office of the Genting Group. As Director of Sales & Marketing for Kerry Hotel, James leads a team of over 40 passionate and seasoned individuals in unveiling the first waterfront urban resort in Hong Kong. Designed by Andre Fu, this newest property boasts the largest hotel meeting, event and catering facilities in Hong Kong. James oversees all sales, marketing and communications strategies; revenue management and reservation forces, as well as catering and banqueting sales for the hotel. With his wealth of experience and expertise in opening flagship properties around the region, James will be fundamental in the strategic planning and branding of the Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong. Since graduating with an MBA in Marketing from the University of Paisley (UK), James brings with him over 25 years of experience in hospitality sales and marketing. James has an exemplary track record with a primary focus on hotel openings including key positions with Holiday Inn, Sheraton, Mandarin Oriental and Genting Group.
