Christoph Travniczek has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Crowne Plaza Doha

Christoph Travniczek has been appointed as hotel manager for Crowne Plaza Doha – The Business Park and the upcoming Holiday Inn Doha – The Business Park. In his new role as cluster hotel manager, Travniczek will be responsible for the operation of the 378-room Crowne Plaza hotel and will be part of the pre-opening activities and operations of the 307-room Holiday Inn hotel, which are both located at The Business Park in Doha. Qatar’s first Holiday Inn is set to open its door in May 2017. Travniczek, an Austrian national, started his 26-year career as a sommelier and worked his way up in the hospitality industry in various positions in Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, South Korea, Australia, United Kingdom, and United States of America. In his most recent role as resident manager of InterContinental Doha The City, he was responsible for the operations of various hotel divisions including rooms, housekeeping, F&B and risk management. Prior to that, he was the EAM at the InterContinental Hong Kong and was responsible for leading the service and culinary team including the receipt of the world acclaimed Michelin stars for Yan Toh Heen and Spoon by Alan Ducasse. Cluster general manager Marcus Sutton said: “I am very pleased to welcome Christoph to our team and we are set for an exciting year, especially as we prepare for the opening of the first Holiday Inn in Qatar.”
