Philippe D. Clarinval has been appointed as General Manager at The Carlton Hotel, St Moritz

After 14 years, The Carlton Hotel St. Moritz will have a new General Manager. In the autumn, Philippe D. Clarinval will take over Tschuggen Hotel Group's five-star hotel in the Engadine. Mr Clarinval, originally from Central Switzerland, will succeed Laurence and Dominic Bachofen, who are leaving the company to pursue a non-corporate project. Following completion of his MBA degree in hotel management, Mr Clarinval has worked around the world. After holding several management positions in Europe, the USA and Asia, he then served as Resident Manager of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Indonesia and Malaysia. Following that appointment, he spent seven years as Managing Director of the five-star Omnia Mountain Lodge luxury hotel in Zermatt, which he transformed into one of Switzerland's leading hotels. The multilingual Swiss-Belgian citizen is also President of the AlpAdria Chapter of the Cornell Hotel Society and a member of the European Hotel Managers Association.
