David Wong has been appointed as General Manager at Silka Hotels

Dorsett Hospitality International is pleased to announce the promotion of David Wong as General Manager – Silka Hotels, Malaysia. With the new appointment, the operation and management of Silka Hotels in Malaysia, namely Silka Maytower Kuala Lumpur (effective on August 1, 2017), Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur and Silka Johor Bahru (effective on June 1, 2017) will be under Mr Wong’s purview. In his new role, Mr Wong will be responsible for overseeing the performance of the three Silka Hotels by strategically consolidating the key operational divisions of the hotels into a structural management platform for maximum efficiency. This will ultimately drive for better operating competency and continuous business growth for the hotels. Mr Wong first joined the group in 2012 as Director of Rooms based in Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, managing the property through major renovations while maintaining guest satisfaction on operational tasks. With his outstanding performance in leading the team, he was then promoted as Hotel Manager of Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur in 2016 and is responsible for the growth and development of the hotel. Prior to joining the group, Mr Wong has over 19 years working experience in the hospitality industry and has held several senior roles in various hotels such as Hatten Hotel Melaka, KSL Resort Johor Bahru, Avillion Legacy Melaka, Royal Adelphi and Sheraton Perdana Resort Langkawi. When he is not working, Mr Wong enjoys reading, swimming and travelling with his family.
