Darren Matsumoto has been appointed as Director of Conference Services at Fairmont San Francisco
Darren brings more than 15 years of experience to his new role and most recently served as Director of Conference Services & Catering at Fairmont Orchid, a 32-acre, tropical island paradise located beach front on the big island of Hawaii.
Prior to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Darren began his hospitality career in 2001 at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa, where he held several progressive positions including Catering & Convention Services Manager, Group Sales Manager and Associate Director of Catering & Convention Services. In 2009, he relocated to Seattle and continued his career with Grand Hyatt Seattle as an Associate Director of Catering & Convention Services, followed by a move to Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa in Bernalillo, New Mexico in 2010, serving there as Director of Catering & Convention Services. He then took on the same role in ANdAZ Maui at Wailea from 2013 to 2014.
A native of Honolulu, HI, Darren earned his Bachelor of Science in English at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
