Abby Derohanian has been appointed as Director of Rooms at InterContinental Mark Hopkins
The InterContinental Mark Hopkins is proud to announce the appointment of Abby Derohanian as Director of Rooms at the historic hotel property located in San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood.
Born and raised in New England, Abby Derohanian began working in the hospitality industry as a teenager, at a 22-room inn in Connecticut. Her growing interest in hospitality led her to Johnson & Wales University where she earned a degree in Hotel Management with an emphasis on sales, marketing and entrepreneurship.
Derohanian has been part of the InterContinental Mark Hopkins team since 2014 - first joining as Assistant Front Office Manager and later taking on Front Desk Manager and Front Office Manager positions prior to becoming Director of Housekeeping for the hotel.
These roles provided her with an extensive background in not only guest services but training in day-to-day hotel operations, managing teams, and maintaining budgets. She was recently promoted to Director of Rooms for the historic 383 room property situated atop San Francisco's Nob Hill.
In her new role, Derohanian leads both the Front Office and Housekeeping operations and is the main contact for the hotel's valet operators.
