Hassan El Neklawy has been appointed as General Manager at JW Marriott Chicago
JW Marriott Chicago (151 W. Adams St.) announces the appointment of General Manager Hassan El Neklawy, who began his career with Marriott 39 years ago.
Prior to his appointment as general manager of JW Marriott Chicago, El Neklawy held the position of general manager at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown, since 2014. During his tenure, he led the hotel through a renovation and positioned it, along with the award-winning rooftop bar, RAISED, as one of the best in the Chicago market.
Throughout his career, El Neklawy has held various leadership roles and received numerous accolades for his efforts including the Financial Excellence Award for the Renaissance Chicago in 2017 and America's Full-Service Hotel of the Year- Distinctive Premium, in 2016 and 2017 for the Renaissance Chicago.
El Neklawy began his career with Marriott in 1979 as a Restaurant Manager Trainee at the Key Bridge Marriott in Virginia. Over the next 17 years, he landed positions at Vail Marriott Mountain Resort and Minneapolis Marriott City Center. In 1996, he was appointed to his first general manager position at Calgary Marriott Hotel in Alberta, Canada. In 2001, he became the general manager of the Marriott's Lincolnshire Resort before joining the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel.
