The Ritz-Carlton, Astana is pleased to announce appointment of Christoph Schleissing to the position of general manager. Christoph earlier held a similar position at the Rixos Borovoe resort hotel located near the capital of Kazakhstan.
Christoph brings with him extensive experience in the hospitality industry. His career started working for a tour operator arranging river cruises which marked the beginning of his journey in hospitality. For over 30 years, Christoph has been travelling the world, progressing through the ranks in his career, starting in F&B followed by business development, sales and marketing, making him a great all-around expert in the hotel business. Christoph successfully managed the Hilton Luxembourg, the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa in Egypt and The Millennium Resort Mussanah in Oman. Since 2018, he was responsible for the Rixos Borovoe in Kazakhstan - an amazing luxury resort set on 100,000 square meters, where he was able to achieve an incredible 450% GOP increase over the past 3,5 years. He is among the leading hoteliers in Kazakhstan and Central Asia and is well known for his relentless efforts of putting the destination on travelers' top-of-mind.
His undeniable dedication and commitment to quality, people and high performance are reflected in the many awards all of the hotels he managed received during his tenure including the runner-up for General Manager of the Year EMEA 2015.

Chef Gamba joins The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo with many years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, most recently holding the positions of Director of Culinary Operations at Rosewood Hong Kong and Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong.
20 November 2020 — Joining the Reserve from The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, Gary Russell brings nearly a decade of gourmand and hospitality experience to Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. Russell was first exposed to the romantic and essential relationship between food and wine at K Restaurant and Wine Bar, where the daily menu changes and a vast wine collection allowed him to explore varietals and terroirs like he never had before.
