Jonathan Crook

The Peninsula Hotels is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Crook as Managing Director of The Peninsula Istanbul, effective January 24, 2022. Set along the banks of the stunning Bosphorus, the meeting point of East and West, The Peninsula Istanbul is located in Istanbul's historic Karaköy district and anchors Galataport, a new waterfront revitalization project that will include a promenade, museums, art galleries, restaurants, boutiques and a cruise-ship port. The Peninsula Istanbul is close to many of the city's most iconic landmarks, including Galata Tower, Galata Bridge, and the famous Sultanahmet District - home to The Hagia Sophia, The Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace.

Currently General Manager of The Peninsula New York since 2011, Mr. Crook's tenure with The Peninsula Hotels spans over twenty years. Prior to his appointment to The Peninsula New York, Mr. Crook held key executive positions at other Peninsula locations in Asia and North America. For more than two years, Mr. Crook served as General Manager of The Peninsula Manila and before that, he held posts as Hotel Manager of The Peninsula Tokyo, Resident Manager of The Peninsula Beijing, and Director of Food and Beverage at The Peninsula Chicago. Before joining The Peninsula Hotels, Mr. Crook spent several years on the executive teams of other luxury properties - including The Dorchester in London, and The Sonnenalp Resort in Vail, Colorado. Born and raised in the U.K., Mr. Crook spent his formative years in Portugal, Zambia, Montserrat, and Egypt, before receiving a Higher National Diploma in Hotel & Institutional Management from Gloucestershire University in Cheltenham.
