Julian Wipper

Mr Julian Wipper has been appointed General Manager of New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, the 468-room deluxe hotel in the vibrant heart of Tsim Sha Tsui East.

German native Mr Wipper is a seasoned hotelier with 25 years' luxury hospitality experience across Europe, the United States and Asia including China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Prior to joining New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, Mr Wipper was General Manager of JEN Singapore Orchardgateway by Shangri-La for three years, where he led his team to establish the property as one of the highest performing hotels in the group while concurrently serving as Regional Champion Rooms & Guest Experience for Southeast and Australasia hotels.

He has held a number of leadership positions in various Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts properties since moving to Asia in 2005. No stranger to Hong Kong, prior to his Singapore posting he spent over eight years in positions as hotel manager at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong and executive assistant manager in charge of food and beverage at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong.

Mr Wipper has also worked at such distinguished establishments as Claridge's, The Savoy and The Berkeley in London and The Watergate in Washington DC. He began his hotel career in his hometown of Cologne in 1997.
