Chew Siew Moon has been appointed as Sustainability Manager at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast

Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast is making significant changes to impact the environment more positively by appointing Chew Siew Moon as its first Sustainability Manager. This appointment is an important step to further improve the property's sustainable practices whilst complementing the brand's commitment to building an environmentally sustainable future through its philanthropy movement, "Save the Planet".

A graduate from the National University of Singapore, Chew previously served as an Environmental Biologist in DHI Water & Environment, Singapore before moving on to her first hospitality stint in Six Senses Singapore as Sustainability Manager. In her new capacity with Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, Chew will oversee the hotel's ongoing sustainable operation and metrics tracking of energy, water, waste, and carbon emission to ensure the hotel team provides maximum guest experience with minimal resource footprint. A passionate environmentalist and advocate of zero waste, Chew will report directly to Murray Aitken, General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast.

Chew holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science (Hons) from the National University of Malaysia and a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the National University of Singapore. When not working, she is a soap maker, a real food advocate, an inspiring zero waster, and a part-time natural living workshop conductor
