Nicholas Kuhns has been appointed as Resort Manager at Montage Kapalua Bay
Montage Kapalua Bay has appointed Nicholas Kuhns as resort manager of the 24-acre cliffside resort. Bringing with him 21 years of hospitality experience at luxury hotels and resorts, Kuhns is responsible for day-to-day operations, including oversight of rooms, food and beverage, spa, and security, as well as directing and implementing the resort's service and management philosophy.
Kuhns joined Montage Kapalua Bay from Hilton, where he spent over a decade in key leadership roles. Most recently, Kuhns was general manager of Embassy Suites Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square, a flagship Hilton address in one of the city's most charming, historic neighborhoods. The property earned recognition under Kuhns' management, including the #2 ranked hotel in Seattle on TripAdvisor and the 2018 Hotel Opening of the Year from Hilton Worldwide. Other Hilton management positions included assistant general manager at Hilton Salt Lake City Center and Director of Food and Beverage in Clearwater, Florida. Kuhns food and beverage expertise includes director of restaurants at the Wit in downtown Chicago for two and a half years and restaurant general manager at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for four years in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Born and raised in Orlando, Fla., Kuhns earned an Associate of Arts degree in business administration from Valencia Community College in Orlando and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
