Florian Kunkel has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Boston Logan Airport
Hilton has announced the appointment of Florian Kunkel as general manager of the 604-room Hilton Boston Logan Airport, located adjacent to Boston Logan International Airport. A 29-year hospitality veteran, Kunkel joins the hotel from the award-winning Hilton Houston Post Oak by the Galleria where he's served as general manager since 2019. In his new role, he will lead the team in all aspects of hotel operations, from marketing and hotel administration to guest services and satisfaction.
Kunkel started his hospitality career in Germany, holding positions in England and Switzerland before relocating to the US. He joined Hilton 20 years ago and has held various food and beverage leadership roles at several Hilton properties including Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort and Hilton Portland Downtown. Kunkel also served as resident manager and task force general manager at Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor and Embassy Suites by Hilton Baltimore at BWI Airport, and prior to his most recent role in Houston, he was general manager at Hilton Alexandria Old Town in Virginia.
A German native, Kunkel holds a bachelor's degree in hotel administration and management from Hotelfachschule Garmisch-Partenkirchen and a certificate in hotel real estate investments and asset management from Cornell University. While in Houston, Kunkel also served on the Board of Directors for the Hotel & Lodging Association of Greater Houston.
