Eduardo Ortiz

Eduardo Ortiz has an extensive professional career of more than 20 years in the hotel industry, during this time he has held leadership positions in hotels located in Mexico, Thailand, Brazil, Guam and Peru. During his career he has participated in important projects such as the reopening of The Ritz Carlton St. Thomas, the opening of The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort, Puerto Rico, the conversion of the current JW Marriott Panama and a task force in the area of Food and Beverage at The Ritz Carlton Reserve Zadun.
His beginnings date back to 2000 with the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Lima, where he served as supervisor of the Food and Beverage area. Later, in 2006, he moved to Mexico to take the position of restaurant and bar manager at the Marriott Casa Magna Puerto Vallarta. Two years later, in 2008, he began a new professional challenge on the other side of the world, in Asia, where he served as Food and Beverage Director at the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa in Thailand. In 2010 he returned to South America, to Brazil, where he was appointed Food & Beverage Director of the JW Marriott Ho tel Rio De Janeiro, and a year later he returned to his native Peru to occupy, likewise, a Food & Beverage directorship, but this time at The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center.
In 2014, he again ventured outside Peru, this time to Guam, an island belonging to the United States, in the Western Pacific. There he assumed the position of Hotel Manager of a property belonging to a hospitality company of Thai origin.
After three years, he returned to Lima, Peru, and joined the JW Marriott Hotel Lima team as Director of Food and Beverage, where he was later promoted to Director of Operations.
Recently, he was appointed General Manager of JW Marriott El Convento Cusco, his first opportunity to hold this position. "I firmly believe in the power of motivation and teamwork, which come from leading by example consistently".
Eduardo Ortiz is a business administrator graduated from the Peruvian Institute of Business Administration. He also holds a master's degree in Hospita lity Management from Cornell University in New York, as well as certifications from the same university in Hospitality Marketing, Hotel Revenue Management, New Media Marketing for Hospitality and Leading Customer Focused Teams.
In his free time, he enjoys the beach, movies, music, traveling, gastronomy, and spending time with his son. He also has a passion for swimming, which led him in 1989 to be part of the Peruvian National Swimming Team.
