Sabine Schanzenbach has been appointed as Director at The Dolder Grand
After holding various management positions, Sabine Schanzenbach will assume overall management of the Dolder Grand Spa on 1 October 2022. In addition to her extensive knowledge of the sports, tourism and business development sectors, the new Director of Spa has many years of experience working at Swiss five-star hotels.
Sabine Schanzenbach holds a diploma in Business Administration and has been instrumental in the development of the Dolder Grand Spa since mid-2016. As Spa Fitness & Pool Manager, Spa Members Club Manager and, most recently, Assistant Director of Spa, she knows all the ins and outs of the award-winning wellness oasis at the five-star Dolder Grand hotel in Zurich. She is also very familiar with the Swiss luxury hotel sector, having held various management positions in the spa, fitness and wellness areas since 2008. Prior to this, she worked as a sports teacher and therapist and as a personal trainer for major corporations in Stuttgart and Munich. She succeeds Therese Martirena, who is leaving to set up her own business.
The new Director of Spa has a strong background in sport, tourism and business development. After training as a sports and gymnastics teacher, she went on to qualify as a sports therapist and earned a diploma in Sports and Tourism Management. In 2021, she completed her diploma in Business Administration (Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education) at the Swiss Institute for Business Administration (SIB) in Zurich.
In her new role, Sabine Schanzenbach and her 67-strong team will be responsible for the 4,000 m2 Spa, including the Ladies' Spa and Gentlemen's Spa, Aqua Zone with swimming pool, whirlpool terrace, steam bath, sanarium, mixed sauna area, Spa Library, Spa Shop, Spa Suites, fitness facilities, and treatment and relaxation areas. The Medical Wellness practice completes the range of wellness and well-being treatments and facilities at the Dolder Grand.
