Ruth Abellan has been appointed as General Manager at Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz

From the buzzing city of New York to the hidden gem of Gozo Islands: Ruth Abellan has been appointed as the new General Manager at Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz. The Spanish native brings over 20 years of experience in international hotel business to her new position and is eager to even more put Gozo, the small sister island of Malta, as well as the idyllic hotel on a map.

Ruth Abellan joins Kempinski Hotels from her latest position in New York, where she headed the NH Collection New York Madison Avenue as General Manager for the last four years. Having started her career with Melia Hotels in Barcelona she continued her journey with assignments as Hotel Manager and later General Manager for Melia Hotels in Mallorca, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.

Ruth holds a University degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, is a certified professional coach and studied Strategic Hospitality Management, Strategic Leadership, Asset Management and Marketing at Cornell University. She was rewarded with several industry awards during the past.

Ruth Abellan is an alumnus of Cornell | Executive and Professional Education – Class of 2008.
