Pouplard Thibaut has been appointed as Executive Chef at Shangri-La and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri

Shangri-La and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi has appointed a fresh executive chef. Frenchman Pouplard Thibaut joins the two hotels, in-charge of culinary operations across all dining venues at Shangri-La Qaryat Beri, Abu Dhabi, including Hoi An, the hotel's Vietnamese eatery, all-day dining restaurant Sofra, and signature Chinese restaurant Shang Palace.

Pouplard Thibaut

Thibaut has over 20 years of culinary experience working in various high-end restaurants and hotels around the world. He started his career in France before travelling the world. In 2006, he worked with the legendary Fauchon Paris in its luxury catering department. He then worked InterContinental Doha as head chef of its Zamoda Restaurant, later moving to China through IHG to head its Pipette restaurant.

By 2011, he was in Shanghai, working at the Unico restaurant by famed chef Mauro Colagreco. Between 2013 and 2014, he was working as executive chef in Fairmont Dubai, later moving to the Philippines as an executive chef with Shangri-La.

He has also worked at Hilton Doha The Pearl, where he was executive chef for more than four years.
